Opinion On “Randi Weingarten: Public Schools Need a Bailout”

The logic here is using one stupid act, bailing out wall street, to justify another. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. The idea either has merit by itself or it does not. I for one, do not feel it has any.

I have a few alternative ideas. Lets start with abolishing the U.S. Department of Education and placing education back in the hands of the States where it belongs. Get rid of these worthless programs (no child left behind) that do nothing but empower the bureaucracy and do very little to educate the children. Second, lets remand the executive order allowing public employees to form unions. This will get rid of tenure and a number of other items, including paying teachers to not teach for 5-10 years while the system gets rid of them. Three, educate parents that schools do not exist so you can ignore your children 6-8 hours a day. Schools need your involvement and help if it is nothing more then teaching and education your child respect and ensuring they are doing their part in the education process, mainly learning what they are taught.
